Jetblue Cuts Pillows

I know other blogs have covered this (Jon Heckman, One Mile at a Time, MIddle Seat Terminal), but I wanted to add my two cents.

Anyways instead of giving out free blankets and pillows JetBlue will charge $7 for a set that’s yours to keep. While this can sound nice because unlike the recycled blankets and pillows, you know where your stuff has been. And the $5 coupon to Bed Bath and Beyond is nice. But still, why not buy stuff online or at your mall?

While JetBlue dressed it up nicely, it’s a cut in service, plain and simple.

It’s an interesting deal. JetBlue also says that the material of the pillows and blankets is exquisite. Yet, how many people do you think would rather bring their own blankets / pillows?

For some reason I doubt the quality at such a low price.

But I’ve yet to see the blankets.

I dunno. If you look on Amazon, you find a lot of fleece and other blankets for $6 - $10. E.g.,

I guess it’s pretty amazing how low you can price products when seven-year-olds in Bangladesh are doing all the work for you :(
Personally, I’d rather have a new (or cleaned by me) blanket/pillow than one of the recycled ones from the previous load of passengers. $7 isn’t a bad price, and I’d certainly keep the product and use it again.

Thanks for the link, Oliver. I was at my local Brookstone the other day and they were charging $20-$25 for blankets. Sooooo soft though. :D
